Schorlaship Opportunity
Schorlaship Opportunity
The college has a large scholarship fund and makes many awards each year, principally for academic achievement. As for all admissions, we will interview all candidates who may be asked to sit a relevant test. Other considerations include: personal statements, participation in school activities, positions of responsibility, hobbies, interests and achievements outside of school and ambition. It is rare, although not impossible, for an award to exceed 50% of the published tuition fees.
Terms and conditions of scholarship
Award winners will still be required to pay your examination fees, practical fees and such other incidental fees and expenses associated with their studies at GIC.
Our expectations are high and we expect that scholarship winners will fulfil their potential if they adhere to the following:
- Always be punctual and attend all your classes and tutorials.
- Complete all work in time,
- Contribute to college life beyond the classroom
- Have a positive attitude towards your studies,
- Have a proactive attitude towards college events and excursions
- Comply with GIC’s rules on behaviour
- Always be courteous and polite
The scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if an award winners:
- Academic performance is consistently below what we judge is your potential
- Attendance at GIC is not in accordance with GIC’s requirements.
- Behaviour is detrimental to GIC’s, teachers, other staff, other students and yourself.
It is extremely unusual for GIC to withdraw scholarships. We have been very fortunate to accept exceptional students on scholarship in the past and have virtually always been pleased with their performance.
Students should note that the maximum scholarship we can usually offer is 50%, which means that the tuition fees will certainly exceed N450, 000.00. If students wish to apply for a scholarship then they should complete the GIC’s admissions process.
When sending through documentation, students should indicate that they wish to apply for a scholarship as well as the amount of scholarship they are looking to apply for.
