Student Welfare and Pastoral Care
We offer all our students the care and support they need to feel secure and to be successful in their studies. The Global College teaching and administrative team is friendly and approachable, and always happy to help students outside the classroom, as well as guiding them through their academic studies. Students are encouraged to seek support and advice whenever they need it, and they will usually be able to talk with someone.
College Counsellor Ms Ifeanyi Nwokobia takes a personal interest in each student at the College and has many years of experience helping students cope with their studies and with living far from home.
Orientation
To help our students settle into their life at Global International College, we organise an orientation session for everyone and each student is given a College Handbook. We also provide a comprehensive overview of activities student will be doing and help sort out such practical matters as registering with a HMO.
Students
Attendance and academic performance are carefully monitored, and the Director of Admissions and Director of Studiesprovide the student with any necessary additional guidance or supervision to support them through their time at the College.
University and Career Guidance
Students have regular meetings with the college counsellor throughout their time at College, who provides them with information and advice on careers, degree courses and university entrance requirements. Specialist advice is given to students intending to apply for particularly competitive courses (e.g. Medicine, Law) or the top universities. Students are given all guidance and support necessary throughout the university application process (UCAS), including advice on writing personal statements and mock interviews as preparation.
